4th Annual AVN Family Picnic Day/Weekend
Information and Reservation Page
Date:  July 18 and 19, 2009
    Despite the bad economy situation, we
    decided to keep our reservation fees very
    close to last year's. So, here they are:

    Your Picnic Reservation money goes
    towards the purchase of the food (three
    meals) for Saturday, and for the pavilion and
    kitchen rental fee.


    Adults (age 12 and up) -   $10.00
    Kids 5 to 11 years        -    $ 5.00
    Kids under 5      -          No charge.

    Accommodations:


    Please note: if you wish to stay at Fr. Mike's
    Carpathian village overnight, the rates are
    as follows:

    Cabins -   $100 for 1 night; $150 for 2 nights,
    departure on Sunday morning. None
    available at this time. Cancellation list only;
    first come, first served in event of a
    cancellation.
    Dorms - $20. Per bunk per night
    RV hook-ups - $20.  per night, includes all
    electrical, water, and sewer hookups.
    Tent site - $10 per night

    There are also many motels in the area. For a

                      Directions to Fr.  Mike's Carpathian Village ~

    If you are coming from Binghamton, NY and places north, take I-81 south to I-84
    east and get off the exit for Promised Land, which is Rt 390 south. Take Rt 390 south
    through Promised Land until you come to the stoplight in Canadensis, which is the
    intersection of Rt 390 with Rt 447. Turn left onto Rt 447 (which is also Creek Road)
    and head east towards Stroudsburg, Go just about three miles and you will see the
    cross (+) road sign indicating a four way intersection coming up. At that intersection
    turn left onto Snow Hill Road. Go 1.5 miles and the entrance to Carpathian Village is
    on the right. Come through the gate and down to where the fun starts.

    If you are coming north from Philadelphia, take the Northeast PA Turnpike
    Extension
    to the Pocono Exit (Lake Harmony) and then take either I-80 east or Rt 940 east (they
    parallel each other). If taking I-80 east, then go two exits and take I-380 North to
    the first exit, which is for Mount Pocono and Rt 940. Continue on Rt 940 East (stay in
    right lane) to the light at Rt 611. Turn right onto Rt 611 south and IMMEDIATELY get
    in the left lane to make a left at the next light back onto Rt 940 east. Go down the
    hill past Caesar's Paradise Stream Resort and Bolock Funeral Home. Make a left onto
    Rt 390 and stay on Rt 390 until you come to the light in Canadensis and Rt 447.
    Make a right onto Rt 447 towards Stroudsburg. Go just about three miles and you will
    see the cross (+) road sign indicating a four way intersection coming up. At that
    intersection turn left onto Snow Hill Road. Go 1.5 miles and the entrance to
    Carpathian Village is on the right. Come through the gate and down to where the fun
    starts.

    If you are coming up I-83, get on I-81 north to Hazleton. Then, get on I-80 east
    towards Stroudburg. Then take I-380 North to the first exit, which is for Mount
    Pocono and Rt 940. Continue on Rt 940 East (stay in right lane) to the light at Rt 611.
    Turn right onto Rt 611 south and IMMEDIATELY get in the left lane to make a left at
    the next light back onto Rt 940 east. Go down the hill past Caesar's Paradise Stream
    Resort and Bolock Funeral Home. Make a left onto Rt 390 and stay on Rt 390 until
    you come to the light in Canadensis and Rt 447. Make a right onto Rt 447 towards
    Stroudsburg. Go just about three miles and you will see the cross (+) road sign

    If you are coming from I-84 east (New York State/Connecticut. go west on I-84 into
    PA until you get to the exit for Promised Land, which is Rt 390 south. Take Rt 390
    south through Promised Land until you come to the stoplight in Canadensis, which is
    the intersection of Rt 390 with Rt 447. Turn left onto Rt 447 (which is also Creek
    Road) and head east towards Stroudsburg, Go just about three miles and you will see

    If you are coming from northern NJ or NYC and its environs, take I-80 west to
    Pennsylvania. When you come across the Delaware Water Gap Toll Bridge, go to the
    the left lane to make a left turn at the stop light onto Rt 447 west towards
    Canadensis. Stay on Rt 447 and you will eventually see the entrance to Alpine
    Mountain Ski Resort. Continue along Rt 447 for another 2.5 miles and then right up
    and onto Snow Hill Road. Go 1.5 miles and the entrance to Carpathian Village is on
    the right. Come through the gate and down to where the fun starts.

    If coming across I-78 from New Jersey, cross into PA and take Rt 33 North to Rt 209
    Stroudsburg and get on I-80 east. Get off at Rt 447/Marshalls Creek exit. As you
    come off the ramp, stay in the left lane to make a left turn at the stop light onto Rt
    447 west towards Canadensis. Stay on Rt 447 and you will eventually see the
    entrance to Alpine Mountain Ski Resort. Continue along Rt 447 for another 2.5 miles
    and then right up and onto Snow Hill Road. Go 1.5 miles and the entrance to
    Carpathian Village is on the right. Come through the gate and down to where the fun
    starts.
